About me

Profile pic_edited_edited.jpg

Wesley was born to Taiwanese parents and was raised in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg. He completed a four-year physiotherapy degree at WITS university in 2013. He spent 2014 doing community service in PE and then worked with in-patients at Sunninghill Hospital, where he treated critically-ill patients in ICU and CCU. He also gained experience in rehabilitating orthopaedic conditions.

In 2016, Wesley moved to Cape Town to further his studies, with the aim of better equipping himself to tackle public health issues and to understand alternative healing methods to those now in common use. At the same time, he started practicing the art of Tai Chi and other Chinese martial arts, in order to understand the health benefits to be gained by practices these arts.

Wesley practiced physiotherapy in Cape Town before registering his own practice in 2017. He started out in the northern suburbs of Cape Town, but moved to the Sea Point area to meet the demands of his growing practice. During this time, he helped many VIP clients and provided domiciliary services in the Clifton and Camps Bay areas.

In 2021, Wesley returned to Johannesburg to be closer to his family and he committed himself to re-establishing his practice and using the knowledge he had gained in Cape Town to help his patients. He continues to deepen his knowledge and understanding of holistic health  and applies the best available knowledge in managing his patients. He does this by incorporating his lifestyle philosophy, and his knowledge of Chinese medicine and adjustment techniques in treating his patients, which provides an edge in terms of recovery and healing after injury.

Meet Wesley Chen

My philosophy

I believe that a good education is the foundation of any successful career. More important, though is the life-long learning required to deepen one's knowledge. And underpinning it all are one's values and moral. In the ancient Chinese health care system, health professionals were only paid when society was in good health, not when people were sick. It is a philosophy I live by, i.e. to keep people healthy - in mind, body and soul.

"Health is not limited  to the physical body; it extends to

emotional and spiritual aspects. True healing takes place when all three aspects are addressed. A person begins to unlock his true potential when those aspects are in harmony."
